I am calling this new class the Esoteric Dao De Jing because we will not be going thru my book as before, but I will be pulling from many other sources, some very esoteric ones…it will be a deep dive in how this ancient text has been understood and taught and presented to the world over the last hundred years, both in the West and in China…we will not be moving thru the DDJ in a linear fashion as in chapter 1-2-3 but moving around a bit in order to explore this rich text in a nonlinear and fun way…

Besides the text itself, we will be exploring some of the other various schools of philosophy at the time of the writing of the DDJ as well as some history about how Laozi and his book have influenced Daoist religious practices, up to today…

There are, of course many practices of different kinds imbedded in the text, and we will be doing many of them… I also hope to engage the members of the class in a rich dialogue of just how we can apply the teachings and practices into our own journey towards Dao…I will be sending out more in-depth handouts each week as well…

I am really looking forward to this class as I think it will be a lot of fun and a chance to delve into some areas not usually taught in a class on DDJ!
